Epoxy Coated Reinforcing Bar (ECRB)
Epoxy coated rebar is a kind of rebar coated with epoxy resin on the surface of ordinary rebar. Its main function is to improve the corrosion resistance of rebar. It is especially suitable for corrosive environments such as ocean, salt spray, snow melting agent, and groundwater with high chlorine content.
European standard grades for steel products follow a set naming structure. Each grade starts with a single letter, and is followed by a number. The letter relates to the application and the number relates to the yield strength of the steel. Steel used for reinforcing concrete has the application letter B, and the number 500, which represents a minimum yield strength of 500MPa. The grades for reinforcement steel then have a final letter A, B or C.
A615 steel rebar has a rough, blue-grey finish with raised ribs throughout the bar. Designed for use in concrete reinforcement, rebar increases the tensile strength of concrete structures. ASTM A615 is the standard specification for deformed and plain carbon steel bars for concrete reinforcement.
Stainless steel rebar is the most expensive reinforcing bar available, about eight times the price of epoxy-coated rebar. It is also the best rebar available for most projects. It is more resistant to damage than any of the other corrosive-resistant or corrosive-proof types or rebar; and it can be bent in the field.
